NMGIC conducts two educational / general membership conferences each year. The Spring Conference is generally vendor-oriented, and features numerous demonstrations and exhibits of state-of-the-art technology, plus presentations by industry experts. The Fall Conference is typically devoted to the user community, with both GIS professionals and students alike presenting papers and poster sessions, usually centered around a “theme” or “hot topic”.
NMGIC conducts and organizes various workshops on GIS, GPS, remote sensing & imaging, etc. The workshops are usually held in conjunction with the conferences, but can also occur independently.
Fees for Conferences & Workshops
Each of the two yearly conferences are free for NMGIC members, and are open to the general public. Non-members pay a $20.00 fee to attend (which includes a lunch and refreshments). Students with a valid ID receive free membership and admission to all NMGIC Conferences.
There is no charge to NMGIC members for attending most workshops, although sometimes for highly-technical / hands-on workshops, a nominal fee is charged to recoup expenses. While NMGIC typically allows non-members to attend the free workshops, we encourage them to join NMGIC (helping to defray our expenses).
